Recently, Dr. Akina, President of the Grassroot Institute, appeared on Hawaii News Now to call the state government to task for mismanagement of the UH-Tokai University deal. The arrangement was supposed to result in a West Oahu campus for Tokai and shared classroom and dorm space for both schools, but has been stalled by multiple delays. Speaking to reporter Rick Daysog, Dr. Akina quickly identified the heart of the problem:
The bottom line is government needs to be accountable for its business practices.
