My purpose in life is to transform the arena of politics so that people experience politics as a source of inspiration. I believe a healthy community in Hawaii can and will solve our problems and fulfill the possibilities originating in our hearts.

In my lifetime I envision the people of Hawaii being enriched by public life. In the face of challenges, the community’s mood and values call our spirits to action and enliven our will to succeed. Citizenship and public integrity are woven into the fabric and meaning of our lives.

Public life in Hawaii empowers the community to promote involvement, foster communications, and encourage actions by the people. Every person is a worthy contributor to our diversity while the disadvantaged add special value to the community.

Government is the community’s facilitator for coordinating collective action, empowering entrepreneurial endeavors, and encouraging self-organizing activities for public education, neighborhood safety, environmental stewardship, and economic sustainability.

Through open communications, policy decisions resonate with the community. The people respect consequential decisions, even when many disagree. Hawaiian sovereignty is fulfilled and resolved, and nourishes personal and community empowerment. Hawaii is cherished in the world for its cultural and economic contributions, and for sharing the Aloha Spirit with citizens around the world.
