GRIH President Emeritus Dick Rowland and
Director of Climate Strategies Watch Paul Chesser at The Pacific Club in Honolulu. |
Director of Climate Strategies Watch Paul Chesser spent some time in Hawaii on Oahu and Maui recently as a guest of the Institute. He met with GRIH members, Hawaii state legislators, media and community VIP's.
“Hawaii is undergoing a climate policy development process similar to many other states,” Chesser said. “The recommendations the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Task Force produce will, without a doubt, seek to raise Hawaii’s already expensive transportation and electricity costs even higher. Citizens should be aware of the effects of these policies, especially when legislators start trying to enact them into law,” he said.
A joint project of the John Locke Foundation, The Heartland Institute and the Better Government Project, Chesser's Climate Strategies Watch assesses the development of global warming policies at the state level and scrutinizes global warming organizations, such as the Center for Climate Strategies, exposing their true agenda in environmental advocacy.
"We're excited that Paul has been able to spend some time with us and share his timely information on this vital issue," said GRIH Founder Dick Rowland. Chesser gave several presentations on both Oahu and Maui. Look for a Grassroot Insights audio interview in the next issue of GIR and video highlights at Grassroot TV in the near future.
Chesser is a contributing editor for The Carolina Journal, specializing in investigative journalism and opinion writing. He joined the Locke Foundation in 2001 after serving as editor for two weekly community newspapers. His articles on climate change and the proposed government solutions to global warming have appeared in The Washington Post, The San Francisco Examiner, National Review Online, and WORLD magazine, among many others. Chesser has also appeared on NBC's "The Today Show," and as a guest on talk radio stations across the country. He now lives in the Raleigh area with his wife and four children.
