The Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, the Foundation for Economic Education and Hawaii Pacific University recently hosted a double header of speeches at HPU's downtown Honolulu campus. The event featured two knowledgeable and articulate speakers. Author Greg Rehmke spoke on economic freedom, as well as energy policy in India and the U.S. Professor Ken Schoolland delivered a talk on liberty in a global economy. The Warner Auditorium saw standing-room-only for the free session and complimentary certificates of participation for all HPU students were available.
Greg Rehmke is from the Foundation for Economic Education and is a consultant who directs programs at Economic Thinking, a program of the nonprofit E Pluribus Unum Films in Seattle. He wrote The Complete Idiot's Guide to Global Economics.
GRIH Board of Scholars member Professor Ken Schoolland is presently an associate professor of economics and political science at Hawaii Pacific University. He is the author of The Adventures of Jonathan Gullible: A Free Market Odyssey, a book which educates young and old alike on the free enterprise system and has been translated into more than 40 languages. It was recently published in Sindhi with an Arabic language edition soon to come.
