D’Souza to headline Honolulu event on school choice

WHEN:  Wednesday, Feb. 1, beginning at 5 p.m.

WHO / WHAT:  Writer-scholar Dinesh D’Souza, president of The King’s College, New York City, will assess “Obama’s America” as keynote speaker during a dinner at 7:30 p.m. (reception at 6:30).

A panel discussion at 5 p.m., “Why Parental Choice in Education Matters for Student Success,” will feature:

  • Allen Cardines Jr.,senior pastor, Hope Chapel Nanakuli and executive director, Hawaii Family Forum.
  • Jennifer Marshall, director of domestic policy studies, The Heritage Foundation.
  • State Sen. Sam Slom, president, Smart Business Hawaii and president, Small Business Hawaii Entrepreneurial Education Foundation.

WHERE:  Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort
