VIDEO: Mufi Hannemann Talks to Grassroot Institute

Recently on Think Tech Radio, Keli’i Akina, Grassroot Institute president, asked former Honolulu mayor Mufi Hannemann about his controversial decision to empty sewage from a failed pump directly into the Ala Wai Canal bordering Waikiki, resulting in years of unsightly repair and recovery work.

Hannemann explained how this was an example of leaders needing courage to take unpopular but necessary stands despite the political fallout.

The conversation continued with a focus on what it takes to be a leader of influence in Hawaii, regardless of political party, and Hannemann’s work in building leaders through professional mentoring programs.
