Ten years ago, Mr. Walden founded HFP, bringing his signature brand of investigative journalism and daily news to Hawaii’s media. Hawaii Free Press immediately stood out for its willingness to take on issues and views that had previously been ignored by much of the mainline video. In this interview, Dr. Akina and Mr. Walden discuss changes in news media as well as some of Hawaii’s most pressing current events, from the elections to education reform and the Native Hawaiian Roll.
