About the Gala
The Grassroot Institute of Hawaii is proud to celebrate its 25th anniversary of championing the values of individual liberty, economic freedom and limited, accountable government in Hawaii.
To celebrate this milestone, Grassroot is hosting a special gala at the Sheraton Waikiki on Friday, Sept. 4, starting at 6 p.m.

Adam Carolla
Keynote Speaker
Adam Carolla is a comedian, podcast host, New York Times bestselling author and self-described libertarian known for his outspoken advocacy of limited government, free markets and personal responsibility. He rose to national prominence co-hosting the syndicated radio program “Loveline” and co-creating “The Man Show” with Jimmy Kimmel before launching “The Adam Carolla Show” podcast, which earned a Guinness World Record for most downloads and remains one of the most popular daily podcasts in the country.
Carolla was personally displaced by the 2025 Palisades fire in California and has since become one of the most prominent voices documenting the slow pace of recovery, using his podcast and vlogs to highlight the bureaucratic obstacles facing homeowners trying to rebuild.
