Donor Relations Manager
Job Summary: The Donor Relations Manager, also known as the “connector” is one of three key positions in the development department, with the other positions being “closer” and “cultivator.” All three of these positions work under the supervision of the Director of Development.
The Donor Relations Manager will work closely with all members of the development department to help find, engage, and cultivate relationships with prospective donors, with the ultimate goal of soliciting funds. However, the Donor Relations Manager will not necessarily be responsible for asking prospective donors for funds, since that will be the responsibility of the closer.
It will be the Donor Relations Manager’s responsibility to devise creative strategies to engage prospective donors in the process of getting more familiar with the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii’s mission. The key focus is to be fully attentive to the organization’s sales pipeline and identify opportunities to engage prospective donors who are likely to give at a high level.
Hours and location: The time required for this position is highly flexible, with the only requirement being that the individual completes all the tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Director of Development. This means that the individual could work as little as one hour per week, and as much as 40 hours per week, depending on whether or not they completed all the assigned responsibilities. It is recommended that the individual to put in at least 5-10 hours per week.
The position could also be performed remotely, or at the office of the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii in downtown Honolulu, with the deciding factor being the ability to complete all the assigned responsibilities.
The individual will be asked to come in the office for training and orientation a few times per week during the first month.
Hours and experience: This is a part-time position paid based on skills and experience. Hours can range from 3 to 20 hours per week.
