There are many forms of privatization, including replacing a government function with a private company, public-private partnerships and contracting with private sector workers. The Grassroot Institute of Hawaii supports exploring all forms of privatization, encouraging best practices for risk, cost and accountability in the process. When set up soundly, privatization can allow for higher quality and lower costs to taxpayers.
