There are several pathways through which Native Hawaiians are advancing, such as education, entrepreneurship, and political involvement. This was discussed in a program called, “Beyond Political Sovereignty: Pathways for Native Hawaiian Advancement”, hosted by the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, in conjunction with ThinkTech Hawaii.
The program discussed issues facing the Native Hawaiian community and explored alternatives by which that community can achieve its cultural, social and economic goals other than through a restoration of political sovereignty.
The event will featured Oswald Stender, former OHA Trustee, Bill Richardson, Office of Technology Transfer, UH Manoa, Maile Meyer, Owner Na Mea Hawaii, and Dr. Keli’i Akina, President/CEO, Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, moderated by ThinkTech’s Jay Fidell.
